Summary
Project love is an exploration of how design methods and practice can create new interactions between people and nature that increase our empathy, tolerance and care to foster greater love in our daily lives

My Role Trustee & Service Designer
My goal ia to carry out Service Design methods & ensure objectives of the foundation are met
Mission
To explore fresh approaches that underscore the importance of linguistic precision, decoding non verbal signals, to embracing diverse forms of expression
In the fast paced world of work, effective communication is a cornerstone of building positive relationships among colleagues and within oneself
Challenge
How can we harness the rhythm and tonality of our words to foster a deeper understanding and collaboration among various forms of expression in the workplace?
Objective
To enhance the quality of relationships we have, both with ourselves and with others, within the context of our professional lives. To achieve this, we will explore innovative approaches that emphasize the importance of linguistic nuance, non verbal cues, and diverse forms of expression
I will delve into the subtle art of rhythmic communication, examining how the cadence, pacing, & melody of our words can impact our interactions. This exploration will encompass verbal and non verbal elements, such as body language & vocal intonation
"We live in a digital world, but people still feel most comfortable communicating love in person."
Bringing Design to Life
This project's aim is to help bring together different cultural touchpoints of communicating and expressing love. This is to foster an understanding of how one communicates to the self (internally) and to others (externally) in hopes of creating a healthy modern working environment that is not driven by fear

Key Insights
My initial research was captured by a hyperdiverse user group. I wanted to ensure that the answers came from vastly different cultures (those who self identify & respective cultures). This ranges from third culture kids to American Chinese and from single upbringing roots e.g., purely French
How do you express love?
Surprisingly, most people expressed love through actions rather than physical touch. This was most prevalent among individuals from Asian and Romanian cultural backgrounds
Growing up, how were you mainly shown love?
The majority of responses indicated that people being there for me was the primary expression of love, whereas words of affirmation were less significant
This brings into question the age old saying actions speak louder than words
What channel do you find most comfortable communicating love through?
66% of respondents preferred in-person communication. In an age dominated by technology, this underscores the enduring importance of face to face interactions
This finding reinforces the need for designing communication tools that account for various layers of human interaction, as not everyone has the privilege of being physically present with others all the time
Where do you feel lacks love and needs more of it?
The workplace. We spend the majority of our time at work, yet expressions of love and appreciation are often absent
Workplaces are too serious at times; hardly anyone shows love and appreciation for each other
How it Works
This idea is designed to gently nudge individuals after meetings or work events, prompting them to reflect on their communication methods with stakeholders, clients, and coworkers. The goal is to coach them towards improving their interactions and fostering better working relationships with themselves and others.
The solution will take the form of an online plug in tool that gathers data (with consent) from workplace suite systems. It will analyze how individuals interact, assessing their speaking style and communication patterns. After each meeting, users will receive a mini-report evaluating
Whether they allowed sufficient space for others to speak
Their use of engaging and inclusive language
Areas for improvement in their communication approach
Additionally, this tool will enable users to compare their reports with colleagues' communication styles. By understanding each other’s preferred ways of expressing themselves, workplaces can foster an environment where compassionate and effective communication is valued rather than overlooked or perceived as a weakness
