I am on a mission to bring more compassion into this world because the world needs more of it. I’m doing this through Service Design.

Intro

Design & Vision

Rids identifies as a global citizen, with her experiences across numerous countries providing her with a unique perspective. This allows her to navigate cultural barriers with sensitivity, bringing the distinct value of each culture and human essence to the forefront of her work.

(1996 AD-present)

Work

Her career has been centered around humanitarian causes, complemented by experience in strategy, advertising, and a brief stint in accounting (which she prefers not to dwell on). Rids holds a BA in Art History and Visual Culture and an MA in Service Design, with a strong interest in speculative design and future-oriented frameworks. Currently, shes practicing Service Design in the Labs design team whilst shaking up the staus quo at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

In addition to her current role, Rids is a trustee for Project Love and actively mentors through ADP List and the Service Design communities at the Royal College of Art and the Royal Society of Arts. She is passionate about giving back whenever possible, with a long-term aim of bettering future generations. Shes driven to achive this by infusing compassion into the foundational stages of the design process, with a focus on humanizing the world, one industry at a time. She draws motivation from looking beyond the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, aspiring toward the 2050 Anthropocene goals as the next frontier after the SDGs are achieved.

Modus Operandi

She enjoys simplifying complex problems, jargon-free everything. Putting the human at the forefront of any decision-making process; designing with, not for. She excels as a connector and catalyst for conversations & collaborations. Her strengths lie in mediation & fostering fair team dynamics, ensuring that everyone, especially those often overlooked, has the space to express their thoughts. A maverick and creative disruptor, she loves bringing a bit of fun into her practice and embraces her neurodiversity. She hopes to leave her mark in this world as a compassionate listener with a big heart for everyone who crosses her path professionally & personally.
